Announcement by Nancy Sanders, Chair, Board of Directors, Oak Valley Health: 

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Fam as our next President and CEO, following an extensive recruitment process.

Mark brings a wealth of experience and a strong reputation in the health care sector, most recently serving as President of St. Mary’s General Hospital.

His previous leadership roles include serving as Vice President of Programs at Michael Garron Hospital, where he played a crucial role in establishing integrated systems with community health partners. Additionally, he has held senior positions at Health Quality Ontario and North York General Hospital.

Mark holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration and is a Certified Health Executive, as well as an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Health Policy, Management and Evaluation, and an Associate Professor at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Mark will officially assume his new role on January 20, 2025, bringing with him an understanding of serving diverse and fast-growing communities. He expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity.

Jo-anne Marr, who has led us through significant growth and achievements, will retire on November 29, 2024. Elena Pacheco, our Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, will provide interim leadership between Jo-anne’s departure and Mark’s arrival.
