The Leading Transformation Report 2024/2025 explores how leaders are balancing speed and adaptability with consistency and stability. The report is based on in person interviews with 15 executives recruited from Boyden’s and Futureworks’ networks. The interviewees provide valuable insights into their transformation drivers, leadership culture, and personal leadership style.
- Transformation drivers: The opportunities presented by new technologies and digitalization continue to be among the most important drivers of change. Whether technology is at the core of the business, transforming the business model, or supporting processes and services, human interaction continues to play a key role for many.
- Stability and agility: Some interviewees see stability and agility as opposites that need to be consciously man aged, while others consider them to be necessary comple ments. Clearly, both are needed. Stability in the form of an established core business as a foundation and a strategic direction as a guide. And agility in the sense of a flexible and customizable path to the goal.
- Leadership culture and communication: Leaders see their role as creating the conditions for employees to en gage, take ownership and develop their potential. It is im portant to recognize that transformation processes unfold at varying paces and that organizational change requires time.
- Leadership style: Two qualities are critical for leaders and teams: first, being present and engaging with people on a personal level. The second is the ability to make quick, well-considered decisions. Leaders must also be able to adapt their leadership style to the situation – the challenge, the situation, or the people.
