Hosted by Nick Robeson, Managing Partner at Boyden UK & Ireland, 'Leaders in Focus' features one-on-one conversations with C-Suite leaders, delving into their businesses, passions and journeys that define their success.

Welcome to Leaders in Focus, featuring exclusive conversations with prominent figures shaping industries and driving positive change. In this episode, we welcome Kath Evans, the Director of Nursing (Children) at Barts Health and the Clinical Lead for Babies, Children & Young People at North East London Integrated Care System (ICS).

Kath is a dedicated healthcare professional with a remarkable journey in the NHS, starting as a nurse in Wales and ascending through various leadership roles across the organisation. With a diverse background spanning clinical practice, education, management and national-level programs, Kath has consistently championed innovation and collaboration to enhance healthcare services for children, young people and their families. Her extensive experience includes being an Assistant Director of Nursing, Lead Nurse for acute and community children's services and a Lecturer at Middlesex University.

Kath's passion for improving child health outcomes is evident in her current role, where she oversees a population of 2 million people in Northeast London. She focuses heavily on addressing poverty and health inequalities. Her vision extends beyond the hospital setting, emphasising the importance of partnerships with voluntary organisations, primary care teams and community nursing to shift care into communities and support children's overall well-being.

During our conversation, Kath shared her personal drive, drawing inspiration from the stories and experiences of young people she has encountered throughout her career. She highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for children and youth to have their voices heard, advocating for initiatives that directly address their needs and concerns. She spoke passionately about the need for long-term strategies and holistic approaches to tackle complex challenges that impact child health outcomes, such as mental health and social determinants of health.

In conversation with Boyden's Nick Robeson, join us in this insightful dialogue as we explore Kath Evans' exceptional journey and her vision for transforming child health services through innovative and inclusive leadership.
