Interim project manager brought in to assist with a restructure in a professional services firm
Our client is an established professional services business who were in the process of setting up a new joint venture business with their sister company and had been working with external consultants and key internal stakeholders to manage the process. Their objective was to establish the new entity and manage the transition while keeping the team engaged and focused.
The business had been through a significant restructuring exercise and as a result had identified the opportunity of setting up of a new JV business in conjunction with their sister company. They had an established senior team who had worked with the business for many years but lacked the bandwidth and experience to manage the operational needs of the JV programme. In addition, as a result of the restructure, a significant change programme was taking place that was impacting the whole business and many new executive level positions were being reviewed.
The interim consultant initially bought in to manage the people and process transformation within the newly formed organisation. They managed the internal stakeholders and mapped out a comprehensive programme in conjunction with one of the 'big four' consultancy houses. This allowed the client to have better control and clarity around timelines and to manage costs and output.
The client then reached out to Boyden as they need an experienced executive search partner to work with them on a number of board level appointments including new NED positions. As a collaborative business, the interim partner was able to introduce them to one of our executive search partners who continued to work with the business on numerous C-level appointments. Once the team was in place, we then worked with the business to create 'high performing teams' through our leadership consulting programmes.
The business was better able to have clarity around the JV programme and had a comprehensive plan internally and the ability to more effectively manage third party relationships. Boyden became a 'Trusted Advisor' for the business; creating strong relationships between the client and the consultant. The client views Boyden as a “holistic total solutions” provider supporting them across interim management, executive search and leadership consulting.
