Boyden was engaged to support the Board in recruiting an independent, non-family-member director possessing substantial technology and investment acumen.
Working with the Board’s Nominating Committee, comprised of five members, Boyden facilitated the creation of a matrix to pinpoint the most critical attributes, skills, and background required of a new independent director. The objective was to complement the existing expertise on the Board. Notably, the committee determined that while insurance industry experience held significance, it was secondary to possessing leading technology industry skills and investment background.
Boyden presented a diverse slate of ten candidates, in addition to four nominees proposed by the Board. Following video interviews with five candidates, the Committee extended invitations to three individuals for in-person interviews at the corporate headquarters. The selected finalist, introduced by Boyden, emerged as a global technology and strategy executive with prior experience chairing the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee of a public company board. She also brought valuable prior experience within the insurance industry, further enriching her suitability for the role.
