Clarke’s new CEO and President, Shawn Naugle, will join Clarke mid-July 2024.
Shawn comes to Clarke with more than 17 years of experience in non-profit leadership management, including a focus on advocating for the rights of children from many populations.
Shawn‘s passion, expertise, experience, transparent management style, charismatic leadership and compassion will help steer Clarke towards even greater success in fulfilling our mission to provide children who are deaf or hard of hearing with the tools necessary to thrive and lead fulfilling lives.
Shawn holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Denver and a master’s of public administration from Strayer University. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Shawn led his previous organization to the school’s highest student enrollment in its 11-year history. He also grew their net assets by $15 million in a three-year period and delivered a 30% increase in community and business partnerships to support operations.
“It’s pretty incredible to see the impact that Clarke is making,” says Shawn on what him drew him to this role. “To see an organization that’s been around for a hundred-fifty plus years, with a very special focus, and is obviously leading the way… it’s not hard to get excited about wanting to be a part of that.”
In addition to his work advocating for the rights of children, Shawn is also father to 10-year-old daughter Maggie.
“She is the greatest thing ever in our lives,” says Shawn. “And the coolest part about [parenting] is just seeing her learn about the world. We emphasize all the time—you don’t have to be like anybody else. You shouldn’t strive to be this person or that person. Strive to be the best version of yourself.”
