The Board of Directors of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) is pleased to introduce Jeremy Luke as the organization’s new President and CEO, effective February 1, 2023.
Jeremy will work with a newly structured executive team to continue implementing the CCES’s 2022-2027 Strategic Plan, which outlines a clear and bold path for the organization over the next four fiscal years. The CCES will work collaboratively with the sport community and partners to achieve outcomes in four strategic priority areas: True Sport, Anti-Doping, Competition Manipulation, and Ethical Sport Leadership. These priorities will enable the CCES to fulfill its vision of fair, safe, accessible, and inclusive sport.
“Jeremy is a superb choice to lead the CCES thanks to his character, passion, and commitment to the mission of the CCES. We are thrilled to have Jeremy take on this important leadership position within the organization and continue to implement our 2022-2027 Strategic Plan, focused on demonstrating the CCES’s value to national and international sport community stakeholders and reinforcing the CCES’s role as a collaborative, effective partner,” says Dr. Don McKenzie, Chair of the CCES Board of Directors.

However, for this to occur, we must be intentional about instilling positive values in sport and relentless in our pursuit to protect sport from unethical threats. I am looking forward to working with an amazing team of staff and volunteers at the CCES, along with developing and strengthening our partnerships within the Canadian sport system,” says Jeremy.
Jeremy takes over from Paul Melia, who announced his intention to step down in September 2022. Paul is recognized as an international leader in anti-doping, values-based sport, and sport integrity, and leaves the CCES in a strong position.
Jeremy has been working in the field of sport integrity for more than 20 years. In his previous role as the Executive Director, Sport Integrity within the CCES, he oversaw the anti-doping and competition manipulation programs, as well as business development initiatives. He has extensive experience in international sport; as a contributor to several World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Committees, chair of the WADA Independent Observer Program for the 2018 Asian Games, and a member of the International Olympic Committee Legal Working Group on Competition Manipulation. Prior to joining the CCES, Jeremy was the Director of Anti-Doping with the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Games where he developed and implemented a comprehensive anti-doping program to protect the integrity of those games.
Jeremy holds a master’s degree in Sport Administration from the University of Ottawa and a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology (Honours) from Western University (Gold Medalist).
