Montreal, QC - Sept 13 2023
The members of Anges Québec’s Board of Directors are delighted to announce the appointment of Stéphane Drouin as president and CEO of the organization. He will take office on September 23, 2024.
Stéphane Drouin has over 30 years of experience in business development and entrepreneurship, boasting a track record of remarkable achievements. With a degree in administration from Université Laval, Stéphane is recognized for his expertise as an investor and entrepreneur. His varied experience includes key management roles in innovation, marketing and business development, enabling him to provide strategic advice to multiple business leaders on strategic planning, market expansion and organizational management.
Working as a business coach both freelance and with École d’Entrepreneurship de Beauce, he has helped many leaders turn their vision into reality. From 2019 to 2021, he developed Centre québécois d’innovation en commerce and successfully led the Retail Council of Quebec before heading the Quebec procurement strategy for Investissement Québec from 2021 to 2024.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, we’re delighted to welcome Stéphane, and we believe he’s the ideal person to lead the next development phase of Canada’s largest angel investor network. His vision is perfectly aligned with our mission to stimulate dynamic private investment. He’ll be able to build on the solid foundation Geneviève Tanguay has skillfully laid over the past four years,” added Frédéric Bastien, Chairman of the Board for Anges Québec.
“It’s a privilege to take the reins as the next leader of an exceptional organization like Anges Québec, which embodies my passion for entrepreneurship and economic development in Quebec. The impact of angel investors is well established as a critical catalyst for the success of start-ups. We’re committed to providing added value to entrepreneurs through our team and investor members by actively contributing to the creation of businesses that will shape the economic success of tomorrow’s Quebec,” added Stéphane Drouin.
Stéphane Drouin will succeed Geneviève Tanguay, who was CEO of Anges Québec from 2020 to 2024. During her tenure, Geneviève left an undeniable legacy, due to her deep commitment to the ecosystem and her decisive role in the strategic repositioning of Canada’s largest angel investor group. Her leadership and vision have firmly anchored the organization in a new era of growth and innovation, laying a solid foundation for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
