November 19 2020 - Vancouver, BC
Announcement by Benoit Morin, President & CEO, Provincial Health Services Authority:
PHSA is on a journey of building the internal capacity to lead our organization in a new way, starting with our Executive Leadership Team (ELT). As part of this, I am pleased to announce PHSA’s new executive vice president of business operations, Scott MacNair, who will join us effective Oct. 26, 2020.
Scott will report to the president and CEO and serve as a member of the PHSA ELT, where he will be responsible for leading business operations within PHSA, as well as consolidated non-clinical support services focused on enhancing value across the provincial health care system.
About Scott
Scott comes to PHSA with diverse private sector experience, gained with organizations that support effective health care delivery. Since 2016, Scott has served as president for Stryker Canada, one of the world’s leading medical technology companies. He joined this organization in 2008, assuming increasingly senior leadership roles in commercial sales; marketing; contracting, tendering and pricing; operational and commercial performance; and financial performance for Styker’s Canadian business operations.
Under Scott’s leadership, Stryker Canada maintained its reputation as an industry leader in the provision of innovative products and services for medical and surgical, orthopaedics, and neuro-technology and spinal care. Further, he supported the organization in continuing as an employer of choice in Canada, with Styker being recognized with the ‘Great Places to Work,’ and ‘Top 100 Employer’ honours.
Before joining Stryker Canada, Scott spent 13 years leading teams in the areas of business development and sales and marketing with Boston Scientific and Xerox. He completed his B.A. at the Rochester Institute of Technology and has completed the executive leadership program at the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario.
When he’s not working, Scott can be spotted on the north shore hiking, running or playing hockey.
As we welcome Scott, we will prepare to say farewell to Tom Chan, our outgoing executive vice president of business operations, who has now confirmed his retirement at the end of November.
