Announcement by Rodney Rousseau, Chair, Board of Directors, Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN):
It is with great excitement that I am writing share some important news regarding our leadership at the Ontario HIV Treatment Network (OHTN). Effective December 2nd, Nadine Sookermany will join us as our new Chief Executive Officer.
Coming directly from a significant leadership role as the Executive Director of Fife House, Nadine brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the HIV community. Her journey began in Winnipeg as a community health and harm reduction advocate, and her extensive background includes serving as Executive Director of the Women’s Health Clinic. Nadine is dedicated to equity, inclusion, and social justice, and she has actively contributed to reconciliation efforts with Indigenous communities.
With over two decades of leadership in the non-profit sector, Nadine has worked on numerous initiatives focused on community health, housing, and social justice, including significant roles with the Toronto HIV/AIDS Network and as Co-Chair of the Health Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Working Group.
As we welcome Nadine, I also want to take a moment to acknowledge our outgoing Executive Director, Jean Bacon. Jean’s vision and dedication have been instrumental to our success, and we will celebrate her contributions in the coming weeks.
Please join me in welcoming Nadine and expressing our enthusiasm for the journey ahead. I am confident that together, we will continue to make significant strides to in our efforts to improve the lives of communities and individuals affected by HIV in Ontario.
