The Green Line Board is very pleased to announce that following an extensive search Darshpreet Bhatti has been appointed CEO of the Green Line LRT project, effective August 16, 2021. Mr. Bhatti joins Green Line from Metrolinx where he has served as Vice President, Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project since 2017.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bhatti has been responsible for leading major City-building projects including the Metrolinx Hurontario Light Rail Transit Project and Region of Waterloo Rapid Transit (LRT/BRT) Project. He has also been involved in other major initiatives including the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization, City of Brampton AcceleRide Project and the City of Windsor Detroit River Tunnel project.
With a proven record of strategic leadership in delivering multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects, Mr. Bhatti will take the helm of the most significant infrastructure project in Calgary’s history.
Now with the alignment of funding partners, a redefined procurement strategy and construction beginning in fall 2021 on the multi-year utility relocations in the Beltline/Downtown, Mr. Bhatti’s significant experience will ensure the Green Line LRT project continues to drive forward and delivers for Calgarians eager for this much needed transit infrastructure and the benefits that it will bring to our City.
The project team looks forward to being able to introduce Mr. Bhatti to stakeholders in the months ahead.
