Boyden is pleased to share the appointment news of Colin Anderson, a recruitment led by Ron Burkholder

Toronto, ON  - June 17, 2024

Association of Power Producers of Ontario (APPrO) Board Chair Pat Dalzell announced today that the search for new APPrO President & CEO has been successfully concluded. “On behalf of the APPrO board I am excited to announce that Colin Anderson has agreed to become APPrO’s next full-time President and CEO, effective July 1, 2024,” he said.

Dalzell noted that APPrO’s current President & CEO Dave Butters, had earlier announced his intention to step down this year. Since then, the APPrO Board has been engaged in an active and rigorous process to find APPrO’s next leader.

Most recently, Anderson was the President of The Association of Major Power Consumers of Ontario (AMPCO). He is a Professional Engineer with an MBA with more than twenty five years’ experience and considerable knowledge of the electricity industry, and an enviable track record of successes. Dalzell said that “Colin has the experience, knowledge, skills and leadership to take APPrO to new levels through this very important period of growth in the energy sector and we’re thrilled he has decided to join us.”

“I am very excited to join APPrO as it continues to effectively represent Ontario’s power producers during this critical period,” said Anderson. “Having worked with APPrO in the past during a variety of regulatory proceedings and stakeholder engagements, I appreciate the thoughtful perspectives the Association takes and the policy solutions it develops and I believe we can continue that approach, and build upon it, as we fully embrace Ontario’s energy transition.”

Dalzell added “On behalf of the board I want to recognize our outgoing President & CEO Dave Butters for his services as APPrO’s first full-time President. Over the past twenty years he has played a key role in shaping and implementing the strategies that have positioned APPrO as a leading voice in Ontario’s energy sector. Dave will be working with Colin over the coming weeks to ensure an effective and efficient transition, including the joint APPrO–OEA conference on September 23.”
