The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Shelley Vandenberg as President and CEO of Saskatchewan Blue Cross, effective January 13, 2020.
Ms. Vandenberg is a seasoned executive leader, most recently serving as the President of First Calgary Financial and Legacy Financial (divisions of Connect First Credit Union). Previously, she held the title of Senior Vice President of Risk and Chief Privacy Officer for Connect First Credit Union, and other senior leadership roles within the Connect First Credit Union organization and with the Bank of Montreal. Her career in financial operations has achieved significant success in managing transformational change, innovative solutions, strategic planning as well as tactical initiatives. This will serve Saskatchewan Blue Cross well as we embrace the next decade and many of the advanced back office / legacy system improvements currently under development.
Shelley holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Brunswick, Strategic Decision and Risk Management Training from Stanford University’s Executive Education Program, and Risk Management Certificate from the University of Toronto. She is a Certified Risk Manager, Privacy Professional and Branch Compliance Officer. Her impressive experience and education are complemented by extensive community engagement resulting in being named 2017 Business in Calgary Leader of the Year.
