M.A. O'Kane Consultants Inc. (Okane) is excited to introduce and give a warm welcome to new Chief Executive Officer, Scott Rose!
Scott will lead communication with Okane's board of directors, develop long-term strategies and new initiatives, oversee key operational decisions, and align Okane's daily operations with our vision and purpose. Mike O'Kane, the founder of Okane, will continue to work with our clients as a Senior Technical Advisor and continue to support the leadership team through the transition.
Scott has spent his entire professional career working in various sectors of the mining industry prior to joining Okane. Scott began his career after completing an undergraduate degree in geology at Carleton University, and a master's degree in carbonate geology and geochemistry with a focus on base metal mineralization at the University of Calgary. His prior experience includes working with Teck exploring lead and zinc deposits in the Arctic Islands and Peru, exploring precious metals and industrial minerals in northern Alberta with Birch Mountain Resources Ltd, and most recently leading the development of limestone quarries in the Athabasca region of Alberta and other regional strategic initiatives with Hammerstone Infrastructure Materials Ltd. We are excited to have Scott join Okane's leadership team. His personal values and passion are strongly aligned with our core values and our purpose "Help Create A Better Tomorrow". Scott's vision is for Okane to continue to be leaders advancing integrated mine planning and closure solutions, and to continue working collaboratively with our clients and stakeholders.
