Epidarex Capital, a leading transatlantic early stage life science venture capital firm, is delighted to announce that Russell Makepeace has joined its management team as Vice President of Finance and Administration.
Russell is an international business executive with over 25 years of experience in finance, accounting and operations. Most recently, Russell was Chief Operating Officer at a U.S.-Indian alternative assets manager focused on equity long/short and real estate investment strategies. Prior to that, Russell spent five years leading accounting and fund operations teams within several divisions of JP Morgan. Russell also spent several years at a $1.6 billion equity long/short hedge fund as finance and operations manager. Early in his career, he held accounting roles at UBS Fund Services, Cantor Fitzgerald, Coutts NatWest, and Outokumpu.
Russell has in-depth expertise across a full range of corporate financial accounting and operational functions, including process improvement, risk reduction, and enhancing profitability. His expertise has been gained through extensive international experience, having worked in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Russell currently serves on the Board of Directors as Treasurer of Citrine Angels, an early-stage investment group supporting the success of female-founded businesses and increasing access to investment opportunities for women investors.
Russell is a CPA and earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Murdoch University and his M.B.A. in international business from Deakin University.
