The Challenge 

Alpine One was engaged by Boyden Partner Dennis Grabherr to support his client in addressing ambitious growth targets. To achieve these goals, the client aims to develop a tailored program for high-potentials and young talents. The goal of the program is to enable young talents to determine, at this stage of their careers, whether a specialist, project, or leadership path is the right fit for them. This initiative seeks to enhance existing management development programs while offering targeted career planning support to the selected participants, ensuring their growth aligns with the organization’s strategic objectives.

 

The Solution

Based on an intensive collaboration with the client to address company-specific requirements, Alpine One developed and conducts a comprehensive, tailor-made development program for the target group. The program's primary objective is to help participants evaluate their strengths and identify development opportunities. It serves a dual purpose: identifying potential candidates for future management roles while also offering alternative career paths within the company beyond vertical promotion. Spanning approximately 1.5 years, the program begins with a psychometric assessment, followed by an in-depth analysis of results and individual feedback sessions conducted by Alpine One. Participants engage later on in regular in-person workshops on topics such as communication fundamentals, self-perception and impact, personal branding, and change management. These sessions are supplemented with concise online modules, enabling participants to deepen their understanding and apply the material through various formats, including peer-to-peer interaction. Throughout the program, Alpine One provides personalized guidance, supporting participants at every stage of their development plan. This comprehensive approach empowers individuals to conduct accurate self-assessments and identify career opportunities that align with their strengths and aspirations.

 

The Results

Participants define clear development opportunities and career goals within the framework of a forward-looking corporate vision, leveraging their individual strengths, values, and unique attributes to align personal aspirations with organizational objectives. To further enhance the program, a self-nomination or self-application process is being planned. This initiative aims to create a fair and transparent selection mechanism, reducing bias and providing equal opportunities for all eligible candidates.
