Boyden is pleased to share the appointment news of Colleen Purdy, a recruitment co-led by Kevin Gregor and Morgan Campbell
Edmonton, AB - May 25 2020
It gives me great pleasure to welcome Colleen Purdy to the role of Vice President, Corporate Services, and Chief Financial Officer, for Alberta Health Services.
Colleen will be a familiar face to some of you. She was a leader on the former Capital Health team for more than 10 years, including an executive role as the senior financial officer, and previous to that, finance leadership positions at the University, Royal Alexandra and Glenrose Hospitals, before taking on senior leadership roles at ATB Financial. She is returning to health care after a decade leading several teams and portfolios at ATB. Most recently, Colleen has been Senior Vice-President and Head of Brightside, which is the digital banking app under development by ATB.
Colleen’s portfolio at AHS will include financial planning, financial operations, contracting, procurement and supply chain management, capital management, planning and performance, and administrative oversight for internal audit and enterprise risk management. She will play a key role in the ongoing implementation of the AHS Review, and all financial sustainability initiatives.
Colleen is a chartered professional accountant and holds her CPA, CMA designation. She has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, health care and the retail sector.
She is Saskatchewan-born, and has lived in Alberta for more than 30 years. She made St. Albert and Edmonton her home before moving to Calgary three years ago. On the personal side, she loves to spend time with her family, participate on her dragonboat team and find great places to explore. She is also an active community volunteer, currently serving on several boards, including the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter and the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Arts Awards foundation.
We are thrilled to welcome Colleen to the executive leadership team, and we are excited to have her bring her expertise, passion and energy to the organization. She will start her role July 1.
I would also like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Robert Hawes, who has been serving in an interim capacity after returning from a very brief retirement. Robert has done an incredible job during this interim period and will be going into retirement again. And this time, he says his retirement is for real.
Welcome, Colleen, and best of luck and thank you, Robert.
