Boyden is pleased to share the appointment news of Samantha Joseph, a recruitment co-led by Wendy Wilsker & Jill Coran

Boston, MA - Jan 7, 2025

ADL (the Anti-Defamation League) announced today the appointment of Samantha Joseph as Director of ADL’s New England Region. Joseph will lead the fight against antisemitism and all forms of hate in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Samantha Joseph comes to ADL with a distinguished background in the private and public sectors, including her work on the National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism, and most recently having served as the Director of the Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships at USDA where she worked to build partnerships with faith and community-based organizations.

Joseph has been a participant in ADL’s Glass Leadership Institute and a member of the board of directors of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston for the past 10 years. As a presidential appointee to the Biden-Harris Administration, Joseph worked closely with ADL’s staff in Washington, D.C. to address antisemitism over the past 18 months. Joseph began her career in the private sector where she built and advised global corporate social responsibility programs and has also worked in electoral politics. Joseph received an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and an MPA at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

“We are thrilled that Samantha has joined the Boston team,” said Jim Wallack, ADL New England Regional Board Chair. “Samantha comes to ADL with a strong professional background, but of equal importance, she comes with a dedication to our mission: ‘to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.’ We look forward to the continued strides against hate ADL New England will make under Samantha’s leadership.” “It is truly an honor to join ADL as the New England Regional Director, following in the footsteps of Lenny Zakim and Robert Trestan whose leadership I greatly admire,” said Samantha Joseph. “My family came to America in the 1920s seeking safety from antisemitism in Europe. During this difficult time of rising antisemitism in New England and across this country, I am grateful to help deliver on that promise of safety and security for all members of our community.”

“We are delighted to welcome Samantha Joseph to lead the ADL New England region in confronting antisemitism and hate through advocacy and action,” said Peggy Shukur, Vice President of ADL’s East Division. “Samantha’s leadership and deep commitment to our mission will allow us to deepen the impact of our work in preventing and responding to antisemitism at this most critical time. ”

Joseph will assume the role at ADL on January 27.
