Steps in the Selection Process

Announcing Your Wish to be Considered

If you wish to be considered for this position, please forward your CV and Cover Letter. You may be asked to complete a self-assessment questionnaire to complete your application, which will allow you the opportunity to share additional experiences and insights to support your candidacy. Rest assured, all your personal information will be kept in the strictest confidence.

Reviewing & Assessing Applications

Once we receive the CVs and cover letters of those who express interest in the position, we compare them against the key selection criteria outlined in this brief. We will let you know as soon as possible if we will be proceeding further.

Interview with Boyden

If your skills and background are commensurate with the key selection criteria, we will reach out for an initial interview to further explore your motivations, interests, and experiences.

We will let you know as soon as possible after the interview if we will be proceeding further, and we will also ask you about your interest. If both parties wish to proceed, we will ask you to begin gathering any information that might have an impact on your final decision.

The goal of gathering all of this information is to help you make an informed decision, as soon as possible, about the degree of your interest. Please let us know if, for any reason, you are unable or do not wish to proceed with your candidacy. If you have additional questions following our initial discussion, we'd be very happy to help you acquire the additional information you need.

List of Candidates for the Search Committee’s Review 

After the interviews with Boyden, we will carefully select candidates for the Search Committee’s review. The Search Committee will assess candidates by evaluating their application at this stage.

Interview with the Search Committee

If there is a mutual desire to proceed further, we will ask you and other short-listed candidates to attend an interview with the Search Committee. After you meet with the Search Committee, we will advise you of their decision as soon as possible. If you are selected as a finalist candidate, you will be invited to visit NOSM U in Sudbury in person.

Steps Leading to an Offer

If you are the preferred candidate, we will conduct reference checks. If NOSM U is satisfied with the information received, you will be made a verbal offer of employment, during which time the terms and conditions of the offer will be discussed with you.
