About John Muir Health Foundation
John Muir Health Foundation (JMHF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and stewarding philanthropic support for all health services, programs and facilities of John Muir Health.
Philanthropic gifts are essential to sustaining and enhancing the margin of excellence that distinguishes JMH as a top-rated healthcare provider and vital community asset.
Making a Positive Impact
Gifts to John Muir Health Foundation give health, give life, and give hope to patients in the San Francisco Bay Area. By making a gift, donors instantly become an important part of the Foundation’s and Health System’s team. Their gifts help organizational leaders plan and provide for the future. Donations provide physicians, nurses, and staff with the tools and facilities to excel at what they do best. Philanthropy also provides patients and families with peace of mind, knowing that they can count on John Muir Health to provide top-quality care in their community.
Here are a few examples of how donor support is making a difference:
The Steins are in DEEP: Elliot and Eileen Stein helped launch the Diabetes Empowerment Education program (DEEP), an education curriculum designed to help people with pre-diabetes, diabetes, relatives, and caregivers gain a better understanding of diabetes self-care. “Until there is a cure, there must be more focus on education about prevention of diabetes and how to live a healthier lifestyle,” explains Elliot Stein, a John Muire Health Foundation Board Member and diabetic.
A Warm Welcome for Newborns: One of the first sensations a new baby experiences at John Muir Health is a warm, safe bed, thanks to state-of-the-art Panda Warmers that were funded by donor contributions.
Advanced New Technology Saves Julie’s Life: The Legacy gift of longtime donors Jack and Patsy Brown helped fund the 3-D mammography technology that detected Julie’s breast cancer and saved her life. “I wish I could thank Jack and Patsy Brown in person for their generosity and for knowing that John Muir Health would use their gift in the best possible way. My family and I are forever indebted to them,” says Julie Long.
JMHF is currently in the silent phase of a campaign for the Cancer Pavilion, a 155,000-square-foot facility slated to open on the JMH Walnut Creek Medical Center campus in February 2024. This historic $100 million campaign will be announced publicly in November 2022.
Now is the time to join this dynamic, goals-driven team to help bring a revolutionary, world-class cancer program to fruition through philanthropic support.
